The Joseph Rainey Center for Public Policy celebrates Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month as an important moment to honor the countless contributions of members of the AAPI community to American life.

“We at the Joseph Rainey Center for Public Policy are proud to celebrate the AAPI community all month long. The contributions of the AAPI community to American life and public policy have made our country better and stronger,” said Rainey Center CEO and President, Sarah Hunt.

“We also want to take a moment to reflect on the recent passing of former U.S. Secretary of Transportation Norman Mineta, the first Asian American cabinet secretary, whose lifetime of service – first in uniform, and then in politics – is an example to us all,” said Hunt.

The Joseph Rainey Center for Public Policy fosters dialogue to address our nation's most pressing public policy challenges. We wholeheartedly believe that America is best served when its policies are crafted by those who reflect the diversity of the American people. Our organization is proudly a place where women, minorities, and mavericks come for leadership development, policy research, and a sense of community.
