President Trump's tax agenda enjoys strong public support, with majorities backing each major provision of the proposed "One Big Beautiful Bill," according to new polling from the Joseph Rainey Center.
The most popular provisions include increasing the Child Tax Credit by $200 (74% support), ending taxes on tips (69%), and ending taxes on overtime (69%). A deduction for American-made car loans receives 65% support.
Overall, 54% of voters support the One Big Beautiful Bill Act after hearing its description, while only 33% oppose. The legislation's combination of tax relief, border security funding, and elimination of green energy subsidies resonates with voters.
Tax savings would make a real impact: 64% of voters say saving $1,000-$4,000 annually would make a "meaningful difference" in their household finances.
Voters also favor fiscal discipline. By a 52% to 35% margin, voters say reconciliation should focus on reducing inflation rather than expanding government programs. And 63% support requiring able-bodied Medicaid recipients to work or volunteer.
Methodology:
This poll surveyed 1,299 registered voters via online panel from January 28, 2026 to January 29, 2026. Results were weighted by gender, age, race, and education to match population demographics. The margin of error is ±3.1 percentage points at the 95%confidence level.
