A decorated Iraq War Veteran, Rob Smith served for five years in the United States Army, including two tours in the Middle East, during which he was qualified as an Expert Marksman for the United States Army Infantry. During Operation Iraqi Freedom, he was awarded the Army Commendation Medal and the Combat Infantry Badge, among others. Smith obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Advertising and Communications from Syracuse University, and spent years as an Ad Executive on Madison Avenue, where he developed and executed campaigns for multiple iconic American brands including Brawny and AstraZenica.

After a pivot into journalism and media, he obtained a Master’s Degree from the Columbia University School of Journalism, and worked as a producer and multimedia journalist for NBC News, Yahoo News, CNN Politics, and Fox News. Shortly after “coming out” as a Republican and supporter of Donald Trump, he joined conservative advocacy organization Turning Point USA as a Senior Contributor under founder and CEO Charlie Kirk, and created communications initiatives that reached millions of Gen-Z conservative followers during the Donald Trump campaigns of 2020 and 2024.

In 2020, Smith released “Always A Soldier,” an award-nominated, bestselling memoir of his time as an Infantry soldier. During both Trump campaigns, Smith was appointed by former Ambassador to Germany and Acting Director Of National Intelligence Ric Grenell to do advocacy and outreach as a part of the Trump Unity initiative that sought to shore up support for Donald Trump among Veterans and other minority communities, resulting in the largest numbers of voters for both for a Republican presidential nominee in 20 years.

A social media superstar with over 1.6 million followers across Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram, Rob is a currently regular political commentator on cable news and digital outlets, having appeared on Fox News, One America News Network, Newsmax, NBC News, and CNN among many others.
