Tom Hassenboehler

Tom Hassenboehler is Co-Founder and Managing Partner at CO2EFFICIENT. He has over twenty years of experience shaping major energy and environmental laws and leading legislative, business, and communications strategies across Congress and the private sector.

Before launching CO2EFFICIENT, Tom served as Chief Counsel for the House Energy and Commerce Committee under Chairman Greg Walden (R-OR), overseeing the Energy and Environment Subcommittees. He previously worked for Chairman Fred Upton (R-MI), where he helped pass oil export reform and electric infrastructure protections in the FAST Act. Earlier, he was Vice President of Policy Development and Legislative Affairs at America’s Natural Gas Alliance.

Tom began his career in the Senate on the Environment and Public Works Committee under Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-OK), focusing on Clean Air Act, climate, and fuels issues, and in the House on the Energy and Commerce Committee, where he played a key role in the passage of the Energy Policy Act of 2005 and the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007.

He holds a B.A. in mass communication and a J.D. from Louisiana State University.
